No I am not.....look at the definition of the word.....sweet jesus...it means "to be the first or among the EARLIEST in any field of inquiry, enterprise, or progress". MB was not the first to have ABS nor did I say that. YOu can be a pioneer in many aspects. Pioneer does not mean fist...rather one of the first. READ YOUR DICTIONARY.

Get Stuffed. Into a subway car for the ride to work. Meanwhile the Germans will be commuting at 140mph through the Alps. Twice a day extreme testing their products while you run CAD in a cubicle. And if they're not the best than who is? Honda? Go reverse engineer another German car and come up with more weak FWD Acuras. No offense, but your name puts the moron in oxymoron. Honda is better than Toyota though.

Mercedes has codeveloped plenty of systems with Bosch, many of which they share licensing fees years afterward (i.e. Lexus/Toyota pays a fee to both for using the folding hard top on their convertibles). Like Delphi to Detroit, Bosch exists as a team member to MB as well as BMW, VW/Audi, and Porsche. It has always served the MOTHERLAND! Seriously though, we'd all be dying more in our cars if not for this longstanding collaboration.

Kurt, if you read back and understand what you have written, you may be a little embarrassed. You do realize you are saying they pioneered ABS in '78, which on the one hand ( and you are correct) that it does mean "the first to do something". So to put it nice and simple for you, you are saying they did it first, which is NOT true! Wake up Kurt and join us.

Ha ha... thank you for agreeing with me that the Jensen Interceptor WAS the first road car to have ABS. Quote "that was only first car which had ABS" Bless you! That was all I ever said, nothing else. Your other comments have been interesting reading but not relevant to the fact I was pointing out. Try not getting to hot under the collar old chum, try to relax and chill out a little... Good bye!

It seems that YOU dont know what it means to pioneer! As you said,MB made abs brakes in 1930(I wrote exact date,1929),so they were first pioneered by MB, but first fitted to truck, not to jensen interceptor! that was only first car which had ABS,but they were useless, because those were mechanical, good only for trucks. So MB started to develop better brakes after the truck sucess, and in 1978 made first electronical ABS brakes. SO NOW PLEASE SPARE ME FROM READING OLD DUSTY FACTORY ARCHIVES!!!

I think you will need a hearing aid!First ABS brakes were made by Bosch on the 12.May 1929,but first vehicle with ABS brakes wasnt jensen interceptor but after-war made Opel Blitz! That is how they got to America in year 1985(Opel is part of GM),so there they were used on truck(Chevrolet)and car (Ford). But 25 years before that they were fitted into Jensen Interceptor, but it was for no use because those were mechanical. And then in year 1978,they were put first put in a production car,the S-class.

I work in Autocommerce in my country and of course i know what they did more than you and people who make commercials and YES my whole family including ME and entire neighbourhood drive Mercedes Benz(last counting 82%). I was working as a mechanic in Stuttgart for 20 years before this job and I know what is an over-engineered car
