I also see the "guardian angel" kind of aspect when the large man who has been chasing the subject stops and mouths the words to "...you, are my angel..."; he has such a look of benevolence, an almost thoughtful kind of look.I could be completely off track from the intended message, but its my interpretation.

The confused look on the main characters face always made me think such, as well as the loose correlation to the lyrics "you, are my angel... come from way above..." perhaps inferring an almost "guardian angel" kind of relationship to the crowd.

I always thought the video alluded to more of a misinterpretation: the man feels as thought the people following him are out to cause him harm, however when he is finally backed into a wall and cannot run any further he finds that the crowd does not advance on him, rather they are more of a group of followers who shadow his moves.

The music video is so layered. At first I think of the old expression "we only hurt the ones we love". Then i'm given the impression that it's about facing your worse enemy, which in this world is yourself. Then I get something along the lines of facing your fears, and what you fear is inside yourself, as seen as a reflection of everyone and the main character. Such an awesome video
