Supercharged 4Runner with Jardine Exhaust
My supercharged 96 4Runner finally gets a worthy exhaust system. I have a pretty extensive list of mods, but have always ran the stock exhaust system with a cherry bomb installed for some reason. It sounded good, but was too loud and the supercharged engine was not breathing to its full potential due to the restrictive stock piping. The Jardine / Doug Thorley 2.5" O.D. system is mandrel-bent and an excellent bang for the buck. It's not too loud and it really improved power in both the low and high ranges of the power band. I am not sure why the video switches me to RHD at one point, but it doesn't really cause any problems so I left it in place. High-speed passes were done on a deserted road. My guess is that I have about 270HP at the crank.

o that makes sense could you use them both at the same time.

No, not really. The mod simply ensures that fuel demand is met...and with forced induction and greater fuel demand at the rails, the need is glaring. You can, however, start toying around with different pulley sizes which increases the boost and thus the need for more fuel. So the answer is yes and no. :)

O/D off unlocks the torque converter and seemingly drops it down to a lower gear (or dis-allows the feature). PWR simply tells the elec. controlled transmission to hold gears longer.

No, USA. For some odd reason the video editing software added a mirror effect at that point of the vid. It bugged me at first, but then I thought it was kind of cool...plus I didn't feel like messing with it anymore.

right hand drive and passing on the right? is this NZ?

that sounds about right. cuz the old Hilux Pickups my dad had were both 5 speed manuals, but our 4Runner and most other things I see with it are 4spd automatic.
