The reason death is a black whole is for one, he mentions dropping out of Catholic school and two, because he dropped out of Catholic school heaven and hell have no vacancy signs...they won't let him in. So basically an atheist point of view and way of dieing if you ask me.

What about this music video is so hard to understand? Obviously his lover has already passed on as he is alone in the entire video. The black hole that keeps getting bigger means death is coming to get him. The black hole also signifies weakness and depression as he sits without the one he loves. Even though he is seemingly okay in the video as far as body language, they use the black hole to say otherwise.
