On expert in Rock Band you actually have all the drum hits the real song has got, and the new drum sets have a similar layout. But obviously you need to keep the sense of rhytm yourself irl, harder for some people than others. Drums are certainly more related than guitars anyway. But it's good for something, playing in sync with "others" and listening to the rhytm. I know that, cause I've played real and RB enough to know :)
