How can you say he doesn't have a distinct sound? I can recognize his sound within 2 or 3 notes of hearing him play. Because of that, I would say he definitely has a distinct sound. Maybe I'm just not understanding exactly what you mean.

im guess your talking about head when you say boring and uncreative, which i can kindof agree with, except i dont give a shit about the head. its the solos that make up the song, and the solos were creative as hell. and when you make the reference to the bop generation players being creative, the only creative bop players were the ones who pioneered it, most of the rest were just copycats who imitated the style bird and diz and powell created

i was there in seattle, sooooo filthy, its my teacher on bass. does any one know anything about petes guitar. i heard its called a zeidler.
