Lovable Playful 'Cuddle' Fish

Sweet Pea the oranda and her fancy tank mates show that goldfish haven't been given enough credit as pets or as feeling creatures - we get back the attention we give in return. Just a playful afternoon's water change (+ in the 75 gallon tank (a "Python" makes it easy).Visit "The Goldfish and Aquarium Board" ( www.thegab.org ) for great information and discussion on pet goldfish care. Read their Goldfish Care Sheet at http://www.thegab.org/Articles...

Thanks for alerting people to the truth about gold fish. They really are discredited. Sad we are so quick to write them off.

Regarding the eyes, how they get treated ('harvested',handled , sized, packed, transported, etc) in the industry (makes me cringe) often does that too. Genetics aren't always helpful either. Jack had an ever increasing problem with both eyes since day one though I always took care with handling - and with the tank decorations. Note: most decorations sold out there are extremely hazardous to fancy goldfish. Even normal equipment can present unexpected dangers - you have to kind of 'baby safe'.
