Of course, old curmudgeons can assert that old timers had to do a lot of this layout stuff in their heads, before committing to a final(or almost final)layout.The tools have changed the way we do layout, and have probably led to a different type of person who can make a living doing it. It's not bad, it's just different, and of course, having electronic tools has increased the speed and quality of publishing. Another intangible,there is a lot less rubber cement fumes to breathe these days!
