Why Won't McCain Sign the GI Bill?
http://therealmccain.com/gibil... with unprecedented filibusters, the only way to ensure Senate passage of the GI Bill is to get 60 co-sponsors. So far, John McCain has refused. The same McCain who insists he supports our troops. The same McCain who is voting lockstep with the Bush administration (who have also resisted this bill). We need to get John McCain to lead -- to sign now and signal to other Republican leaders that we should be strongly behind our vets. Sign the petition demanding John McCain sign on as a co-sponsor to The Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act (S.22 & H.R.2702): http://therealmccain.com/gibil...

its a great question. why, if mccain served in the military is he always voting against veterans? he has a horrendous record with va groups who keep track of senate votes. look it up. he was strongly against this gi bill. his weak excuse was "its too nice and people might leave the service too soon to have a life." nice. meanwhile, even if that was true, that retention rates would decrease under the GI Bill, recruitment would increase and more than make up for it. why is he against the va? iono!

10/2003: McCain voted to TABLE a vote for $1 Billion for National Guard and Reserve Equipment in Iraq dueto:shortage of helmets, tents, bullet-proof inserts, & tactical vestsYou need to do some research before you come on here running your mouth about something you know absolutely nothing about. Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

Christian121y,What a load of shit. even the vets here say that it would be the best thing to happen to them, and you want to make up bullshit like that. The bill McCain refused to sign, is exactly what all the vets are asking for, so don't come in here preaching bullshit saying that McCain wants a better one. Blind Freddy can see that is not true.
