Glacier Surfing Alaska

World champion big wave surfers, Garrett McNamara and Kealii Mamala rode into surfing history last week when they towed into a monster tsunami created by Child's Glacier in South-Central Alaska.The creator/producer, Ryan Casey, "disovered" the wave in 1995, while on location shooting in Alaska. Then after finishing his last film, Quest, a documentary on big wave surfing, he showed Garrett the wave... that was six months ago. anaxor137911. hate to break it to ya,but this was filmed at childs glacier 50 miles out the only road from the fishing town of Cordova. The glacier is called childs glacier,it calves into the copper river,not the ocean. It is unique though,because its the only glacier in the world that the face,front of it extends into a river.

Man that was super-mad! Must have been soooo exhilarating! I just came back from Alaska and watched the Margerie glacier calving! WOW!!!!You're awesome dude!

haha of course water can be negative somethingit takes an immense temperature to create ice from a whole ocean
