I'm just gonna go ahead and make a real asshole comment...If she wants them to declare independence, why is she telling them to do so? It won't be their own independence if they listen to her...and besides, what if they like the way things are? If she doesn't agree with it, don't go back there! If they want a change, they would have done something by now or they would have went to America... But I still love Bjork and this song is quite interesting so all in all, she can sing about whatever^^
