It is the keyboardist. You can see at the end of those horrifying bars of wrong notes Edwin looking slightly worried at his keyboards, then starts to fiddle with them... you'll notice they don't play for the rest of the chorus.

I think your right it could be the Keyboard cos it's quite a deep note...sorry bassist. But the "couldn't hear themselves" thing should only really count for singers....It's always the same notes on the keyboard
