swag: good to see that you're not as black & white on issues as you used to be. I'm not against the fundamentals of laissez faire economics. It's just that it's proven that assholes will take advantage of idiots if there aren't some regulations to keep both in check. As for more govt. involvment in business, well, it doesn't necessarily have to be "incompetent". "Emerging market" countries are doing great because of that govt. involvment. Anyway, I'm out to start my weekend. Have a good one.

swag909"a Harvard educated rich black woman who has not had to fight for her country and has a high sence of entitlement"ah.. it never takes long for the true motives to emerge with you right wingers. you hate her and obama because they are "entitled" -or "uppity"-why can't those blacks learn their place?should she be "proud" of a country that historically has been less than kind to her people?

what about norways government do you trust? did you know that norway is drilling oil off their shores? and i am asking you too look at the question in a brauder sence. instead of looking at one person look at the community as a whole, do you trust the people of the community or the officials of that community? and i wonder if you would rather trust the government of the USA or the people of the USA? and give me some reasoning please.

and if left alone business learns from these faults because what hurts the consumer also hurts the business, the fact is where we need government is in protecting individual rights and personal property rights, as soon as government steps in to mandate and regulate they just give business incentive to throw money at politicians to appease them into regulating in their direction. it is not just the business man that is greedy the politician is arguably more greedy.

swag909 "who do you trust more the people or the government?"it depends on the person or gov. in question.if the person is an ignorant, hateful, racist, gun loving, nutcase like dhansingbear; or a somewhat responsible gov. like norway or sweden. then I would reluctantly take government.

racer: who do you think those bad banking practises are hurting just the people who where irresponsible or both the bank and the people. i think i may have come off a little to "free market" to you. let me put it to you like this, in the free market their will be mistakes, their will be recessions and their will be bad business practices, these things will happen. but these faults are no comparison to the incompetence of the government.

swag: guns: I worked with gangs in LA. I know it's not hard to get a gun, but any law that makes it harder for a criminal to get a gun is a good thing. reps on the economy: the last 8 years are another demonstration that "free market" policies don't work. They would if there weren't so many assholes & idiots in this world. Case in point: greedy banks taking advantage of gullible idiots in the subprime market. Having to go back & regulate that industry is an admission of ideology failure.

their is a difference from going out fighting and nearly dieing for your country then getting put into a pow camp and saying that at that point you really realized how much you love your country, and being a Harvard educated rich black woman who has not had to fight for her country and has a high sence of entitlement to say "for the first time in my life i love my country" that is pure cocky and reeks of entitlement. and blujesus i dont even think that you know what you are ranting for.
