IMO this video was a biased. it showed a frantic woman searching for any sign of her baby wanting to eliminate, filming only a "false alarm", and saying that she brings the baby to the potty ever 20 minutes. I've never heard that number before. in all my research most parents bring the baby 6 to 10 times a day. They're obviously trying to make ec a spectacle when it's the norm nearly everyplace else. and of course the pediatrician is going to disagre with ec, he has his own book to sell!

That pediatrician is misunderstanding the motives behind ec. Its not about making your kids potty trained, its about keepng them clean and communicating!! I love how he blames ec on americas anal retentive culture when its not even the norm here...

first off they are not expected to use the toilet, you obviuosly don't have any children. Every baby I have babysat for and my children all gave some indication that they were either going to pee or poo soon. That is way its called elimination communication!

I'm totally for elimination communication!

All mammals are the same -- they have a natural instinct for cleaness. Human babies are not exception.

so small minded. How sad.

I created a group called "Elimination Communication NY" on myspace. Come join or just check it out for some info.

I used to think it was a bit strange too, but then I started putting my daughter on the toilet because she hated having her diaper changed so much. It was amazing to me how quickly she caught on. We are not totally diaper free, but we go through a lot less now than before.

This is the biggest load of shit I've ever heard (No pun intended). How the hell do you expect an INFANT who can't even walk or talk yet to be able to use a toilet?? Good luck with that...

I did this with my pet chicken and it worked! If it works with a chicken it surely works with an infant!
