When i was clearing landmines I used to listen to The Doors during mine sweeping. I rigged my metal detecter so that I would be able to listen to Jim with one ear and the metal pings and pangs in the other.

A late reply to Cietru's comment, but....Jim was a superb lyricist, AND he had a lovely voice. He just wasn't one of these choirboys you see on American Idol and such, he had a natural, not overly trained voice. When I read he had only started singing when forming the Doors with Ray, I couldn't believe it. Seems like he was born to it. The Copehagen clip of "Unknown Soldier" is an excellent example of his lovely voice.
