Meditation can also be a form of brainwashing. Remember that for centuries past buddhism fulfilled the same role in society as any other religion did, control. Look at the social structure of tibet for a good example! Do not mistake simple techniques for "wisdom". These new age fads have been created for a very good reason. Knowledge is power. cutting through the matrix. com

You're correct. I have a friend who is a buddhist - was a monk at a monestary for like a year and a half until he broke his vow of celibecy. Natrually, he continued the path of buddhisum. His meditations are extremly visual and contimplative. He does not have one meditation methode that could be concidered Zazen. I belive the branch of buddhsium he belonged to belived peace ( or what ever) could be achived threw the purging of negativity and the cultivation of posotivity. Very none Zen.

zen is one form of buddhism, a japan one, in this form of buddhism, the zazen, the meditation in a type of sitting position. In THEIR buddhism zazen is essential but on can't say that zazen is essential to the buddhism practice

Stress does not keep us healthy, but concentration does which is quite diffrent from stress. Consintration is giving energy, and attention to the moment - to our lives. Stress comes from being out of alighnment with reality. It comes by not accepting the current moment. Stress/pain is used to ground us in the moment through physicality, be it a cramp in the leg or the bodly sensations of an emotion. Give it enouph attention and it becomes merly a nutral sensation. Stress is not required. Focus.
