Jason Bateman was on Silver Spoons and played Ricky Schroeder's friend Derek. He simply stole every scene he was in and was a very popular character, so much so that Ricky became jealous and his mom demanded that Jason get boot out and he did get booted out, but in return got a show of his own that only lasted one season.

He wasn't on "Silver Spoons". That was Rick Schroeder. He was on the drama with Valerie Harper.

Man I love Jason Bateman. I've always been fascinated by him since "Silver Spoon". He was a cute teen then and he's a cute man now. I'm happy that his career is up again.
