Aren't there 13ths in Chasse-Neige?

Lazar Berman played all (6) Rachmaninoff's Musical moments, all (12) transcendental studies and then three encores in single recital.

Impressive playing, but it feels too rushed in many places, especially in the early segments, which really detracts from the dreamlike musicality that the best recordings of the piece have to offer. Still, being able to perform this so well AFTER already playing the previous 10 etudes is quite an accomplishment.

remic4 you mean you could sit in a hot recital hall playing all of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes 1 after the other in front of a huge crowd without sweating? i think not! 1st reason being... that you can't play them anyway! =P

"I want performers to look like Gods" Too bad. He is a musician, not a painting. Listen to him.

An impressive performance. As much as I respect Berezovsky, he lacks the tenderness and delicacy that this under-appreciated gem requires. I personally prefer Arrau's magically ethereal interpretation.
