they are so hot for each other in this scene, love her coy smile, the play on words, the tug of war with the money, so damn sexy!!! and right in front of that mean cow! she didn't have a clue!

Oh, I am not sure what to say. I am not an extreme purist (I enjoyed Zefferelli's "Jane Eyre", which departed markedly in some ways from the novel), but I am not sure I like all of the liberties the filmmaker took here. I suppose it was felt necessary to allow a 2008 audience to follow the story?

LOVE this scene from the movie! Toby Stephens has such a commanding presence in this role and the movie. Now I am on a quest to watch his other movies!

I think you and I interpret/use the word "storyline" differently :-) IMHO, JE06 is faaaaaar behind JE73 and JE83 when it comes to faithfulness Charlotte Brontë's text. (BTW: Is 'netflix' available for us who lives outside the US?)

it's from the bbc mini seriesyou can rent it off netflix it's a great series, and follows the storyline better than the other jane eyre adaptations (but no movie can compare to the book =D)
