There are modifications that can allow the campaign to be MUCH longer, like 900 turns for examplesearch "DarthMod 1.4D: The Last Episode" on google :)

no dude i can beat the whole campain in 1 day if i play all day on long

It was short because you choose short (need to capture 10 teritories) if you choose the long campaing you will play for 5 days.

i think shogun still beats the shit out of all of them. imo though, sega sucks, the ai has been slowly getting more stupid (in MTW2 you ever have diplomats come to you and do nothing but animate like they want to talk, wtf?), and overall the lack of polish between rome and mtw2 (especially kingdoms) was almost unbearable till they made patches. i have no desire to buy empire till i've heard what real players are saying... again, just my humble 2 cents.

i think medieval is totaly better for the grand campaign mode, there r loads more things to do.

Yes i do think rome was a better game win it came to going and killing another army. But outside of combat i think medieval was the better game. I m hoping with Empire it blows medieval and rome out of the water.

honestly i liked rome alot beter than medievel 2 just for a few small little things, like the fact you could see what your cities looked like when they werent in battle, or like how heavy infantry didnt destroy everything every time nomater what, i had it on very hard and 3 units of english knights with 2 armored swords took out an army of the mongols, when they 1st arive and have teh super training and amazing generals.at least in rome a calvery could kill some stuff without heavy losses

Yeah, but I'm talking about straight up infantry and cavalry against greeks for example. In the campaign, I got really pissed because I had better trained men, but they couldn't get through the phalanx. And since they had my settlement under siege, their flanks were covered by buildings. I honestlt couldn't do anything.

In rome total war I place my men in a W formation agains tthe phalanx. At the vanguard of the formation I would place all my men in defense while have my auxillaries in the second battle line on the offense to flank around the phalanx.
