Yeah Jay Chou did a really good job in the movie. A lot of East Asian pop stars just kind of suck at acting. Actually he was kind of crappy in Kung Fu Dunk and Initial D. But for some reason he really brought his acting A game to Curse of the Golden Flower I thought.
