When you have someone like Burlison who could barely string 3 notes together in time (check out the youtube Burnette 'Hound Dog' clip) and session ace Grady Martin who was on just about everybody's records recorded at Owen Bradley's studio, 'it sounds like Grady' is a completely valid reason. Go and buy Grady Martin's 'Roughneck Blues' from Amazon - it's a comp of his session work, including some Burnette material - absofuckinglutely identical to tracks such as 'Bird Dog' with Don Woody

has a similar riff to 'the train kept a rollin'

Johnny, Dorsey & Paul have had a great influence on the Brit neo-rockabilly scene since the later 1970's - this sounds as solid & hard as the first time I heard it..........

Read it and the reasons don't hold water. Coral 's records only show Martin participating in the July 5 recording sessions as rhythm guitar player. I'd trust Coral's official records more than some website. "It sounds like him" isn't a valid reason.

The 'dropping the amp' story is an urban myth.See the Rockabilly Guitar website for the true story of this great record.
