Terence Blanchard Quintet
Blanchard's current ensemble - bassist Derrick Hodge, tenor saxophonist Brice Winston, drummer Kendrick Scott and pianist Fabian Almazan- on September 4th at teh Dakota in Minneapolis I had to cut out quite a bit to make it fit under 10 minutes. It was a wonderful performance.

Terence Blanchard is one of the sickest arrangers in modern jazz. He has a very fluent way of playing his solos amongst the musical conversation. His best albums has to be "BOUNCE" and "FLOW".

I think I was about 2 tables to the right at this gig. What a gig!! Terence and his band make some of my favorite music in the world. The post-Katrina material is fantastic.Terence obviously has chops, but beyond that he has a combination of heart and intellect that totally capture me and this was a great gig.

Man, those bends are really crisp and in tune. They're kind of his signature.
