I understand your point, but actually some effects are usefull. And you don't have to use all the effects, it's easy to set up with CompizConfig.

Compiz-Fusion is ugly kitsch, witch loading CPU! I dont see any reason, why should i using it...

this is the first time i've seen a screen of Slackware... heard of it all over, but this is amazing (compiz fusion aside, it looks good!)

Slackware is not something which works "out of the box". Take a look at Fedora, it might be what you're looking for. It has very good support.

can someone plz help me, i need an operating system which pretty much works out of the box, got a radeon x1300, but can't ind drivers for it, tried ubuntu, mandriva, opensuse, thinking i'ma try slackware next, but idk, o also tried yellow dog, can someone plz help a noob out?
