You have to understand that xenophobia is different in each country. In Scandinavian countries for example, immigrants might get citizenship and be a part of the society and the hate towards immigrants is more hidden, while in Southern European countries the common love to the nation is widely spread. For example, Denny Mendez faced hate from the Italian media and the whole society when whe was elected miss Italy in 1997. It doesn't matter if you were born somewhere else.
