Dear Desoto and From The Sidelines, Please don't misunderstand me. I never said that There was anything wrong with"Popeye"spoofing"Superman"in this cartoon. I'm stating that it's wonderful that "Popeye"is spoofing the caped super crime fighter from"Krypton".

There's nothing wrong with it at all. Both Popeye and Superman were Paramount property and under the direction of the Fleischer brothers.

This was first released in December 1941, around the time Fleischer began his "Superman" series- so why shouldn't Popeye emulate the studio's newest "star"?

I love the ending..where "Popeye"turns into"Superman"and saves "Olive".BTW:The voices for all the characters in thismovie are performed by Mr.Mercer and hisfirst wife Margie Hines.
