Nice banjo break, very percussive and driving, with a ton of bluesy accents!

My dad has been using a single mic with his band for several years now and it is really incredible. You don't have to worry about someone who doesn't know you, what you like your band to sound like or bluegrass in general messing up and making up sound like junk. It is hard outside to get the best sometimes from a single mic-but I think they could have been helped being a little more tightly bunched. My dad's group is and you can always here everything just fine.

For a Bass player, I don't know how you play this style and not Mic the Bass seperately... I agree, the object is to highlight one instrument at a time and no way to get the Bass in on the mix. Fun to watch tho. We Mic individually.

This style of single mic playing creates a dynamic on stage that causes the players to kind of dance in and out and that is what some bands want to achieve. It was the old OPRY style of playing, kind of like when Bill Monroe's bluegrass boys would dance in and out of the Mic or crowd around.

I meant you could spend more time consintrating on your playing.

I play upright,we have been using a single mic since 2002. Sometimes it's ok,but my bass even with a pu is never heard, just like the lady's in this video is not heard. That was my point. I don't get why everyone thinks this way of playing and amplifying (yes that's what it is folks...yikes electricity in bluegrass!) the band is the best. Moving in and out all the time when you could be playing, thats what I meant about the zoo. It had nothing to do with the fine folks in this video
