I'd like to add on to that, that Detroit's part owner and later "GM" Frank Navin was not willing to spend worth a darn. Cobb asked him(Navin) early in the careers of multiple players such as George Sisler and Walter Johnson to go out and do anything you can to get them... He didn'tGreater impact on the game? No, the outlawing of certain pitches, bringing in the fences, using new balls as they do today that changed the game...

How did Cobb beat him in baseball ? Cobb never won a WS, in large part because his own teammates dispised him, in the outfield players refused to back him up and he did the same for them..all his contempries have said Cobb just wanted to win batting titles..Ruth won with both the Red Sox and Yankees winning 7 championships and having a greater impact on the game than Cobb..

Being the fact that he probably had bi-polar disorder after his father died, all actions and rage show this.Being he was from the south, most if not all people thought the same about blacks. Remember he did take in a black boy, made him his lucky charm.5 tool player. Hit, Run, Field, plus he managed. Took every game to the brink.Lived life to its fullest. Hes not in heaven wondering if he could of done it better.I would rank him first before Ruth.Great Player!!!

it's pitched, it's great catches, great throws to nab guys at home from the OF or any of the basesbaseball is steam rolling the catcher, putting pressure on the defensebaseball was designed to be played between foul lines and between an outfield fence not over it

sorryin golf, in life, in health etc. Cobb beat himin baseball he beat himpeople who enjoy the home run record and praise it's leader are not fans of baseball plain and simpleIf you enjoy hrs, you must enjoy short fences, hardened balls, white replaced balls, banned pitches, ban substances, light bats, guys on teh juice, pulled pitchesthat isn't baseballbaseball is the bunt, the double steal, hitting them where they ain't, slappin' the ball to the opposite field if that is where

The greatest ball player of all time. The greatest competitor of all sports. He played the game the way it should be played. Amazing to hear his voice. He was a very intelligent man.
