great song, thanks. I had the same turntable for almost 25 years. The motor finally gave out last year!

I love this version too. "I'd rather have a Martian for president!"

A great James Taylor tune, probably my favorite. However, we would all do well to realize "Handy Man" was a REMAKE. I had a feeling it was based on a '50s hit as soon as I heard the "come-a-come-a-come-as." Turns out the original was written by Jimmy Jones, a black doo-wopper who had a huge hit with it in 1959. He collaborated with the great Otis Blackwell, another black songwriter who wrote "All Shook Up" and "Don't Be Cruel" for Elvis, and "Great Balls of Fire" for Jerry Lee Lewis. Did U know?

When this song came out in June 1977, we had a drought in the region of Cheyenne, WY, and Greeley, CO, where we heard it at an outdoor swimming pool. You know it's sunny and warm during droughts!!!!! :) Look on the bright side!!! XD
