i got your answer!broly was born with a power level of 10000 which king vegeta had when broly was born,he ordered him dead while he was a baby, the seconds before, freeza blew up the planet, broly saved his father and himself with his power, he grew up among other planets, thus he survived, and had his power generating in him for years, until goku met him and he became enraged,i hope this sheds some light on your question.

If it only takes a few seconds for somebody to submit their power to Goku, then why didnt he always do THAT instead of suffering blows while posing for the Spirit Bomb attack...?Im serious, somebody answer that
