Ofra Haza Yerushalaim Shel Zahav (Jerusalem of Gold) subbed

The second national anthem of Israel, originally composed by Naomi Shemer in 1967. This version is sung by Ofra Haza at an Israel concert in 1998, celebrating 50 years of statehood to Israel. The Video is subtitled in both English and Hebrew, so that it may be fully understood by everyone. DanStauffer, I completely agree with you.If you want to hear what Yemenite Hebrew sounds like, listen to, for example, the song "Im Nin'Alu", which is also available in several versions on YouTube. It is a completely different sound. However, a person who understands only modern Hebrew would understand a written text in Yemenite Hebrew and vice versa, as the main difference between these two dialects of Hebrew is the vowels, which are left out in written Hebrew.שלום על כל בית ישראל

This song was written in Modern Hebrew which is the official language of Israel. She actually does a lot of music in Yemenite Hebrew, however since the vernacular in Israel is Modern Hebrew that's what most of her music is in. However I agree with you that Yemenite Hebrew is the best. It inspires me like nothing else! However I can never help but cry when I hear this song, regardless of what dialect of Hebrew it's in.
