I agree on all counts. I'm sorry I offended you. Yes, there is only one God. Yes, we need to judge ourselves first. Yes, you have the right to put anyone on a pedestal you want. But I think the purpose of this forum is to thoughtfully exchange ideas--to generate food for thought. What "Mindfuljenn" says about the Oprah phrase (below) is the best summary: it represents people being drawn to worldly answers. Jesus says He is the Way; the world disagrees. That's where we all need to be careful.

this is so true. TO many people turn to the wrong people pointing them in the wrong direction.if people did turn to jesus this world would be a WAY better place

That is what this person was saying. I agree with 1Lite4U. We need to stop listening to all these celebrities and start living our lives by what the Bible tells us.

Be careful. Regardless of what you think about Oprah, people DO listen to her (and other celebrities) more than the Bible. THAT'S the problem. Oprah does a lot of good things, but she isn't pointing people toward a saving relationship with Jesus. Instead, she promotes New Age spirituality--"all paths lead the same way." We need to be careful who we put up on a pedestal.
