It seems very unlikely that we will see Warcraft 4 any time soon. Any worthwhile story would surely shake things up enough that much of the land in World of Warcraft would have to be changed, which would be monumentally expensive. WoW lets them tell the story they want while raking in tons of cash, and I doubt they'll do anything to jeopardize that.

I'd say Warcraft 4 is coming in about 2 years, I mean Diablo 3 is supposed to come next year, and what about Starcraft 2? That's probably next year too, they can't have everything in one year.

If you go to the wowwiki and check up on illidan it doesn't state him as "dead" only killable, which blizzard uses to signify a character that CAN be killed in World of Warcraft but won't affect the actual canon of Warcraft, at least, that's what was stated during an interview with one of the blizzard execs on War4 and how WoW would affect it. I suppose it is subject to change but as of now that is blizzard's current statement on the issue.
