tarkinfish:yes they have made systems that are capable of just this. No mobile system like the one shown in the video is capable of shooting down ICBMs yet, but silo-based systems can. There are mobile systems such as THAAD or AEGIS SM-3 that can shoot down MRBMs. Look at GBI for an example of a system that can shoot down ICBMs, or watch this video:watch?v=aZKXH4LmCww

The "blue flame" is the divert and attitude control system. The IR seeker on the front of the kinetic warhead tracks the target, and adjusts its flightpath to intercept it.

Even worse though is that this is beyond the US government since we've ignored the warning and have fallen victim to the military industrial complex which profit off of war. The corporations are a large part of our aggressive foreign affairs.

I'm stating what an adversary to the USA could do to target the USA without having it's ICBMs taken out by US missile defense. No nation in the world would ever attack the US with ICBMs first, unless the US was about to invade or bomb them. That is why the USA wants missile defense, to be able to fuck with more people (that currently deter the USA with ICBMs) The USA has been responsible for the largest act of terrorism in modern times.

well. Knock out communications (sat.) then launch strike. Missile defense rendered useless. orSubmarine missile platform positioned close to mainland, then launch. (or combiantion of the two) One could start development of submarine arsenal ship. orinexpensive suitcase nuclear bombs. Diplomatic luggage would do the trick.in all these scenarios Missile defense rendered useless.
