This was beautiful! Ahhh...I could listen to it the whole day. I've always loved Lucia, but this is the kind of repertoire I love her most in. I'm now trying to learn this piece. She makes it sound easy...

Without a doubt, the definitive version of this song. I have listened to this god knows how man times and it still hasnt lost its magic. Ms. Popp was beautiful as well!x

Well I came to her, age 58, through Desert Island Discs with Miriam Margoles as guest. I thank her for sharing with me the very first opera singer to really touch me!

The way she sings this performance, one can really tell that Ms. Popp means every word. To call it stunning and moving is a gross understatement, indeed.

Though this is written for a boy soprano, I think Faure had a judment error (maybe too strong a statemet), I love the sound of the aging female soprano on this particular work - it adds depth that a boy soprano cannot even have at his disposal regardless of how precocious he might be, musically. This is a favorite.
