I'd have someone who likes MewithoutYou would like the 'steady too. There are a lot of parallels between the two styles, especially the singing. Personally, I love 'em both.

I've decided that it's impossible to get more punk than Hold Steady. They're what happens when punk doesn't care what people think anymore.

These guys manage to be awesomely rocking and poetic in ways other bands aren't good enough or just don't care to be. It's authentic, it's pure and you just don't get it.The Twilight Singers do rule though.

I love the band but this video isn't my favourite thing in the world. I think the director was trying something and to me it didn't work out as well as it could've. Still a great song though.

everything about what you said is just blatantly wrong. vagrant records isnt a major label. the hold steady are very different from a donkey and a cardboard box. the hold steady is not a multi-platinum band. rap isnt automatically bad (though a solid amount is). lastly, the hold steady makes damn good music.so screw off.

wow... the fact that these guys arem signed to a major record label, or any record label for that matter, makes me truly believe that i, a donkey, and a cardboard box could be a multi-platinum band... this is the worst song i have heard in a long time, and i hang out with a lot of people who listen to rap...
