You all just go by your favorite bike. Anyone with a little bit of knowledge will know that a ZX-12R would kill any literbike on a quarter-mile track if the rider has enough skill. Second what were you reading that told you that an R1 has more horsepower than a ZX-12R. You cant be serious. As far as quarter-mile times they are too light to get a good enough launch to ever beat a 12R. They are much too wheelie prone.

they started limiting bikes to 300kph or 186mph because France was going to prohibit the sales of these super fast bikes so manufacturers made a gentlemans agreement to keep it at no more than 300kph

wtf hell no the zx12r topspeed is around 190mph-220mph the r1 is around 177-180 BY FARE THE R1 IS HELLA SLOWER and even in accleration. AND thats a fact learn you facts be4 saying them ,ZX12r runs 9.4s the r1 runs 9.9s with the 07 Fireblade

that isnt why they governed bikes. the manufacturers did it so that the states would not impose a law that would have them going even slower. they basically took responsibility b4 they needed to.

You are correct but kawasaki did not start governing the 12 till late 2000(2001) so they are still capable of speeds aproaching 200mph. Just wanted to make sure you understood that..

Bikes are governed to 186MPH. Bike companies agreed on this because they were making bikes go too fast...
