Oh shit, for a moment I thought this was Samurai Cham- WAIT WHAT. It is!? Oh, right. I've seen this episode, psh. Just the chick who sang this comes up later, so I was like, what..Strangely enough, I enjoyed this song despite the fact that it's not my thing.

This music is unbelieveble!Great clip.THis is the japanese equivelent to what you get from Dead Can Dance when the female singer sings. You don't need to use English to sing... the voice is just an instrument, like a guitar or any other thing. If you can singing only by reciting words that exist in a dictionary, you should now be realizing that you are just limited.

i've seen the anime 2 or 3 years ago... it is an anime with high quality, very good animation and soundtrack and a fascinating story with lots of historical footnotes. this song combined with the scene was and still is stirring me. i dont understand a word, but it could be the emotional underline of the vocalist and the situation confronting one with death (esp. the buddhist or shamanic/natural touch portaying it) that maybe making it so unique for us Western recipients...

Well, his name is really Mugen. Samurai Champloo translates along the lines of "Samurai Remixed," and relates to the style of the anime- lots of contemporary sorts of references when in takes place in Feudal Japan.I'm just trying to be helpful, btw.Oh, and if you haven't already- check out the anime. It's short, under 30 episodes, and it's amazing! =] Dramatic, funny, amazing. And the other samurai's name is Jin. Jin and Mugen are the main "Samurai Champloo," if you will.Peace. =]
