I can't speak for all or a big part since I don't know a big part, but me (17) and some other polictial interested guys and girls see in Merkel just a front woman who produces hot air. It's a perfect opportunity for the men behind the scenes to do something while she is doing nothing at all but saying "We have to find a solution for this problem together. I don't know how, but we have to D:" She's good at saying nothing at all. That's the opinion of at least 8 almost-adults-on-paper.

Most surveys show, that she is one of the most popular politicians in Germany. I think, all in all she's doing a good job and cares for the country, instead of only herself like others do.
