It also reflects how the American Dream has been incorporated into the landscape, if you look at it in terms of spatial meaning. American family values infused in white picket fences in a cookie-cutter suburban setting.

A simply brilliant film about the inevitable loss of innocence as a culture, and how to adjust to change. It is probably one of the greatest allegories ever made.

yeah i just finished reading the giver in language arts class and now we are gonna watch this movie... the giver is a good but weird book with a dumb ending

ohoho i read the giver in 6th AND 8th grade. That's one book I really did not want to relive for a second time. :] I found that book stressful. :X
