Why do the four schools of Islamic law disagree with you? How are Muslims supposed to know chater 9 isn't valid today? Mohammed 'recieved' devine revelations from who he later said was Satan after he had put it in the quran. They violated his strict monotheism and probably realized this later.

That stuff about US soldiers is bull. I know soldiers, they want to help people. I won't even argue about your propaganda.

Mohammad assassinated a poet who insulted him. He raided caravans and killed for booty. He fought in 78 battles and 77 were offensive. Islam oppresses women and non-believers. Read up on how Islamic law treats "people of the book".

1stly mohammed is not a terrorist, bcoz he did not cause any terror; only peace. 2ndly, those verses and hadeeth do not refer to the ppl living in this day. if they did, the world would be in a lot more chaos trust me. 3rdly purlehorny is correct. tell me, if ur men were at battle with oppressors, wot wud u tell ur men b4 they went 2 fight? offer the enemy flowers and perfume? wot do u expect. come on it's common sense
purplehorny (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Nor is there in Islam. The verse about killing non-believers refers to pagans who were out to kill Mohammad in his time. That verse is no longer applicable, not even literally. Quranic literalism, by the way, does NOT call for the killing of apostates, so don't be so quick to condemn literalism 100%. Jesus was influenced insofar as dealing with evil. He rejected Satan. Mohammad rejected Satan. End of story, if you accept religious dogma.

quran, hadith, muhammad's example. Just listen to the terrorists themselves, they liberally quote or emulate all of the above. jihadwatch*org/archives/013477*phpFind me a few mainstream scholars of Islam that reject those mandates to violence that are in a "historical context". Read quranic commentators and their interpretations which are still very influential today.Read Spencer's work, try and find fault with it.

tell me exactly the sources that are recruiting Muslims/promoting violent behaviour. I will look up the interpretations. Often it is a case of historical context misunderstood, i.e. something meant only for those who were with the prophet Mohammed in his time, such as fighting and killing in war(not murdering). If it is hadeeth, tell me which book of hadeeth bcoz i cannot find what ur talking about...thanks

Good, Honestly I am very happy to hear that. But I believe that good honest people such as yourself may need to change/reform/transform parts of the religion that do promote violence. What scares me most is that peaceful Muslims are being recruited by Chapter 9, Muhammad's wars, hadith etc. Try reading Spencer's stuff, there are Muslims who work with him.

-There is no reason to say Jesus was influenced by evil. -These arguments are not "baseless". Read above to see the 'base'. Biblical literalism is not common among Christians(gospel according to mark etc.) Quranic literalism is supreme, a perfect copy of perfect book protected from change by Allah.-Even literally interpreting Christianity there is no mandate to kill unbelievers or subjugate them.

its nice to hear a good conversation 4 once without ppl swearing and making outrageous claims. charles i am a muslim and i am also trying to stop violence in the name of islam. unfortunately there r a minority of muslims who do acts that contradict islamic teachings but call it islam anyways and that gives a bad name to the rest of the muslims who haven't done anything wrong.
