Great song. I saw Dylan on this tour. I remember GE Smith kinda overplaying a bit. Especially on these nice acoustic numbers. He needed to tone it down a bit. Again, THANKS for sharing this great video!

Yeah, sounds plausible. I had just wondered if Bob ever said anything about that song himself, but wishful thinking probably. gracias

It has been said that he wrote it when his son Jakob was little. But like so many Bob Dylan songs, it's as if they are from GOD HIMSELF for us to hear...sent through Dylan

Anyone know who Bob wrote this one about? Just seems pretty cool, like he's giving his blessing to someone.. as opposed to his feelings towards the people he was singing about in "Masters of War" and "Seven Curses". Neat to compare.

Mr. D be lookin' a bit Neanderthal; but looks like he's havin' a good time. I think I've heard all versions of this song; and this is my favorite. Thanks much for posting

This song really never got it's due! It is as good as it gets! People are gonna drop to their feet when he leaves us. This guy is bigger than they think! He's like a classic painting that is gonna go up up up up.
