I rarely see positive images about China coming out of any medias. I tried to find pictures about the incredible architecture of the new buildings in Beijing, related to the Olympics or not and I see that even the ones built for the Olympics are difficult to find. The pix are small, showing only a detail, behind a tree, fenced, dark skies, not up to date, very long to load, systematically compared with bigger US ones, shown from a bad angle, etc all techniques to lower our opinion about China

Too funny... I loved the video. I was just in Beijing and a great majority of them had English names, but they all seemed like they were younger and the names were given to them to them by their teachers. I went with my Chinese friend; her name is Zheng Yu Li, but everyone calls her Lee because they cannot pronounce her full name... I can though!!! - I do, however, sometimes call her leeburt though... she likes it, so it stuck. I wish I could have met Smacker on the street.

I think Sophie should know that Chinese people's name usually can be anything. It is not just simply a name after someone else or just because it is a name. Chinese names can literally translated as a meaning, and it can be any word that has meaning to it. I think if I have daughter I will name her Autumn. Then if i got grand-daughters I will name them September and November.
