The plastic filter need to be soaked in bleach for at least 20 minutes. Bleach water that is..This will get of protein deposits, and disease causing micro organisms...weather or not there is mold..soak in bleach water for twenty minutes..

I turned the air conditioner off at the circut breaker...That is safer and easier than pulling out that big plug.Also when pulling out the plug there is a risk of cracking the plug

Good idea about using bleach if there has been mold.I hope the lady who gave you the toaster hasn't watched.

I am think I need to put another filter on the aironditioner...a filer where the air blow out into the room..because the aluminun fins are still filthy..a hepa filter would be good
