Slower!? How was he slower? He was in the Yellow jersey and only 10 seconds off this stage lead! You don't have to win every stage to win the TOUR. It sounds as though you don't get that.

It was so hot out;Pharmstrong couldnt jack as much and was slower due to worry of dehyration and heart attack.I bet his heamotocrit was even inside legal limits for part of the Tour!

This was so sad, i remember watching it. Beloki broke (i think sometinhg like) his femur, wrist arm collarbone...and probably some other things...i came back with Liberty Seguros in 2004-5 but never regained his skill...

he couldnt avoid beloki with out crashing or risking it. he saw the side was open so he went for it. all of the positions he gained were given back, no harm no foul. its not legal to just cut corners but there was really nothing he could do..you have to remember that tha was at 55+ mph...things happen realllly fast so if there looks like a gap its not really likely we can make it
