I love music, and I used to sing myself to sleep at the age of 3, I remember this song becoming a USA #1 hit when I was 6 years old...I love it just the same, as I did then...Thanks for posting: )Minister K. B. CookGoingUpMinistries*Org

Too bad this singer never went on Ed Sullivan show back then. If he had this song would have reached many more western folks. He apparently canceled Ed Sullivan show to make a movie. Not to criticize who was handling him but the Ed Sullivan Show was "the place" to showcase singing talent in America. As beautiful as this song is in Japanese, I believe this singer could have switched to English and really made it a bigger hit.

This was the first Japanese song I heard when I was a teenager and fell deeply in love with the tune, not knowing the meaning then. It was the beginning of my Japanese dream. Today, I speak the language and migrated to this beautiful country and my son was performing this song in school today. It brought back all the memory on those days when I left my home country and started working here. It's so wonderful to just sing this song with my children. Dream do come true.

Reminds me of summer of 62 or 63. This was hot & so was "Starnger on the Shore" by Aker Bilk.
