@ ZonicvsMario: Yeah, she did die T-T But she is replaced by an identical clone in the same episode. Yet, the third Rei (the first one was the lil girl that ritsukos mom killed in ep 20 or so) is, unlike the second, not intrested in shinji.

She doesn't know that she's his mother's clone. I think she's in love with him, but she doesn't know how to express it, maybe she doesn't even know that her feeling is called love. But i think, only the 2nd rei was in luv with him. the 3rd was.. well, i dunno.
