Sergiu Celibidache: Beethoven--"Egmont Overture"

A young Celibidache conducts with the animation and energy you don't see in his later years.Celibidache(June 28, 1912 -- August 14, 1996) was born in Romania but his career was centered in Germany.Celibidache loved to teach. He conducted many master classes, workshops, seminars, and had a guest professorship at the University of Mainz.His American debut took place at age 72--with a student orchestra! Still impressed the critics. thanks and congrats for this great post...I agree with klleung1:the finest egmont overture ever!I also love the noises background which mentain the temporal feeling...like I leasen an old vinyl! Tuturor romanilor care acceseaza acest post:avem cu ce sa ne mandrim,un alt nume romanesc in lista exceptionalilor!

Muy cierto, sus interpretaciones son maravillosas. En una de sus conferencias dijo lo siguiente: "Recuerdo que, trabajando con un reputado solista, le dije que, por favor, tocara más lento, y él me respondió que no sabía. Pero quiero decir que más que tiempos lentos o rápidos existen tiempos pobres o ricos. El tiempo (así me lo explicó Furtwängler) no es una realidad física, es una condición espiritual por la cual se reducen a la unidad todos los muchos. Saludos desde México.

Soy músico profesional,y he tenido la suerte de conocer anécdotas y comentarios al respecto del paso del maestro por las orquestas españolas de la RTVE y la ONE. Pese a su "despotismo ilustrado", todos los músicos que estuvieron balo su batuta sienten que llegaron a realizar interpretaciones únicas, extraordinarias....Trascendentes.

Furtwangler dirigió a la Filarmonica de Berlin en dos períodos: 1922-1945 y 1952 a 1954 (año de su muerte). Celibidache dirigió a la Filarmonica de 1945 a 1952. Cuando expresé que Celibidache debió haber sido el sucesor de Furtwängler, quiero referirme a que una vez que murió éste, aquél debió ser su sucesor. Sin embargo, fue elegido Karajan. Por ahí lei que los miembros de la Filarmonica deBerlin no estaban de acuerdo con los metodos de Celibidache para dirigir y por eso eligieron a Karajan.

No lo sé, pero Celebidache fue jugador de futbol profesional (llegó a vestir la camiseta nacional rumana), y luego empezó a estudiar para evitar ir al frente durante la 2ª Guerra Mundial. Estudió matemáticas, filosofía, y música, que a la postre era la carrera más larga de todas.
