The yall come song was a great hit, then he wrote a song entitled "Poor Old School Teacher" that song got him in hot water with the school board, and kinda ended his teaching career, but not before he spanked me good. There are many stories about your Dad in Warren, Texas

Kristy, I like you was so elated to see this video of your dad. I knew your dad very well, he taught me in school, he and his sister and dad sang at our school at Warren Texas. I was raised about 2 miles from their old homestead, which is still standing today.

funkalishes I guess by self title , you mean "The Piney Woods Rooters Club " As I recall (50 years have passed) it was a club for ALL country music lovers , you see , Country wasn't always cool . KPIK was the first C/W stationin that area . And this was the Rock & Roll era . Your Dad , Little Herbie Hoflicker , Jay ??????? , made it fashionable to enjoy country . He would dedicate songs to ALL PINEY WOODS ROOTERS .

I just have to say, THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANK YOU to whoever posted this video!! I'm one of Arlie's nine kids and we have never before seen him on stage in his heyday. For me personally, it's a dream come true. I've always wished I could've seen him on stage and this surpassed my wildest imagination. Again thanks from Arlie's kin for sharing this video,,,to us it's priceless!
