stop all the arguing. this band defines the word "emo". this is the birth of every emo band you've ever loved. stopped being a prick.

what in gods name are you talking about? this is pretty much where the cleft of the two scenes started. you had the crazy angular stuff going in one way (Braid, Cap'n Jazz etc. and then this stuff that pretty much defined the more rock based melodic direction (Texas Is The Reason, The Promise Ring, early Jimmy Eat World). this was probably one of the most exciting times in music to live through, and I was incredibly happy to be there.

well, there was kind of a hardcore punk scene called emo,but the name was BS. Fuck that. and SDRE has some influences from the scene, why they were called emo stupidly. In the end, fuck the word emo. Its the dumbest fucking word I've heard of.

This is exactly what it sounds like now. It's just people have a tendency to mix up pop punk with emo.

ohhh yeah- real oldschool emo. not the stuff they say it is nowadays... 'sigh'. Then again, punk isn't what it used to be either...
